Hollywood actor Jack Black recently got to play the game and showcase some new footage. The original Psychonauts originally appeared all the way back in 2005, releasing for PC, Xbox and PS2, before later appearing on the Xbox 360 and PS3 after a bit of a scrub up. The title should launch sometime in 2021. When the only limit is your imagination, there’s a little bit of everything and anything Psychonauts 2 releases in 2021 on Xbox Game Pass, Windows PC, Mac, Linux, and PS4.

The original game saw him run away from the circus to try to sneak into a summer camp for those with similar powers to become a Psychonaut, a spy with psychic abilities. That can mean slinking around a dark world full of demonic teeth or going on a buddy-comedy road-trip to awaken lost senses. It looks as though players can expect the return of lead Raz, and his psychic abilities. He’s a hugely well-known and influential figure in gaming, having lent his talents to a number of Lucasarts games including Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and various Star Wars games, and it’s fantastic to see him return to the series here as it makes the leap to both current gen and the upcoming Xbox Series X. The song has been composed by Peter McConnell, a key part of the Double Fine story, having worked as the composer for both the original Psychonauts, Brutal Legend and Costume Quest.
